Adaptive Algorithm of Iterative Inverse Filter Relaxation to Acoustic Fluctuation in Sound Reproduction System

چکیده
In this paper, we newly propose an adaptive relaxation algorithm for inverse filter design of the multichannel sound reproduction system. The inverse filter of the conventional method often amplifies the background noise and line noise when the room transfer function changes. In order to resolve the problem, the adaptive relaxation algorithm based on the truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) method is introduced, in which only one microphone to observe the noise condition is placed apart from listener’s ears. First, desired signals are reproduced at all control points for listening and control point for noise observation. Next, the number of truncated singular values of matrix composed of room transfer functions is determined based on the observed noise. The experimental result of the computer simulation using real environmental data reveals that the proposal method can prevent the noise amplification. The subjective evaluation in the real sound reproduction system also indicates the trade-off relation between the sound quality and the localization.

Inverse filtering of a loudspeaker and room acoustics using time-delay neural networks
This paper presents the design of a neural-based acoustic control used for the equalization of the response of a sound reproduction system. The system usually can be modeled as a composite system of a loudspeaker and an acoustic signal-transmission channel. Generally, an acoustic signal radiated inside a room is linearly distorted by wall reflections. However, in a loudspeaker, the nonlinearity...

This paper proposes a reference signal extraction method for a semi-adaptive sound reproduction system based on semi-blind source separation (semi-BSS) under a noisy environment. Since the fluctuation of room transfer functions degrades the reproduced sound, we have proposed a semi-adaptive sound reproduction system that updates the inverse filters. However, in a noisy environment, it is diffic...

This paper presents a new variable step-size normalized subband adaptive filter (VSS-NSAF) algorithm. The proposed algorithm uses the prior knowledge of the system impulse response statistics and the optimal step-size vector is obtained by minimizing the mean-square deviation(MSD). In comparison with NSAF, the VSS-NSAF algorithm has faster convergence speed and lower MSD. To reduce the computa...

Multi-path interference due to boundary reflection in shallow water acoustic communication poses a major obstacle to reliable and high-speed underwater communication system. In this study, initially 3D variations of field data such as sound speed, temperature and salinity in horizontal transects of the Strait of Hormuz were analyzed using the ROPME data. Later, data on typical sound speed ...
متن کاملAcoustic Model Identification Using Inverse Model
Sound measured at various points around the environment can be evaluated by a series of multi-pole sources and their acoustic strength can be acquired. In this numerical study, a method, called the inverse method, was examined to achieve this goal. A variety of arrangements of different sources were considered and the acoustic strength of these sources was acquired. Through the application of t...
